About Michael J McCord Adolescent Treatment Facility
This program is designed for adolescents aged 13-17 who are exiting a juvenile justice or other residential facility.
Other adolescents not exiting one of these types of facilities are also eligible pending space in the program.
The primary goal of The Bridge is to reduce/eliminate the behaviors that have resulted in the adolescents involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice and thereby decrease the chances of that adolescent being recommitted to an institution.
The Bridge is an intensive program that works with the adolescent and their family in the areas of substance abuse, education, employment, and family cohesion.
Adolescents in this program have more contact with their counselor than they would in the outpatient program.
Adolescents in the Bridge program receive individual, group, and family counseling.
This program has been recognized nationally as a model program in working with adolescents involved with the criminal justice system.
