About Lifeways

Established in 2003, Lifeways is a South Dakota 501c3.
They are the only addiction counselors with offices in the Rapid City Area Schools.
There are eight counselors working in all three high schools and two middle schools.
They partner with the State, Schools and City to PIC students over addiction by providing evidence based prevention, intervention and connection.
Lifeways Inc provides services such as peer to peer mentoring, individual and group sessions for at risk students, prevention curriculum in classrooms, individual screenings, resources and support and more.

These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

Sliding Scale Treatment Fees that are variable based on the clients ability to pay. Fees are reduced for lower income persons or have less money due to high expenses.

Non-Profit Treatment Many non profit treatment programs are free or are lower cost due to the non profit organizations status.

Faith-Based Treatment Many religious organizations offer drug and alcohol recovery treatment at no cost as part of their ministry services. Many also offer payment assistance for those that qualify.

Medicaid Payment Assistance Medicaid often covers payment for alcohol and drug treatment. Medicaid coverage do differ by State. We provide recovery centers and programs that do accept Medicaid as payment for treatment.
