Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Prescott Valley, AZ

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.

I went to a free rehab last year and the treatment was terrible. It took two weeks for me to see a therapist. I feel like I got nothing out of the experience but more time lost and friends lost as well.

I am a 38 year old man with dual diagnoses of depression/anxiety - alcoholism. I am unable to function or sustain relationships because of my addiction. I am completely dependent financially on my parents, who as retirees in their mid-70’s with health issues, are unable to sustain the economic burden caused by my complete dependency. I have United Health Care insurance through AHCCCS.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Life Transformation Recovery, website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2024

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $15,060
2 $20,440
3 $25,820
4 $31,200
5 $36,580
6 $41,960
7 $47,340
8 $52,720

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I am writing for my daughter Kelly. She is an alcoholic who has lost everything through DCS. She has a number of domestic vilence offenses because she cant control her self when she is drinking and on medication. She lives in Tucson but the reason I think she does not stay with detox is it is too easy for her to walk away and find someone to take her in. If she was further away with no way to get transportation I think she would complete something. She has said she wants to try on a number of occassions but feels that no facility will take her without a fee. Myself or another family member can get her there if we could just give her the chance to try the program without a financial burden.ans Kelly does have AHCCS
