About Salvation Army Rehabiliation Center
Salvation Army provides residential substance abuse treatment for men, age 18 to 60 years, including ex-offenders.
Applicants must be sober, drug-free and willing and able to participate fully in the program which includes twelve-step and spiritual program meetings.
Participants can not be receiving GR benefits, Social Security Disability (SSDI) or unemployment benefits.
There are no geographic restrictions.
This is a six to twelve-month program that includes work therapy, chemical dependency counseling, twelve-step meetings, spiritual guidance and recreational activities.
Participants must remain free of alcohol and drugs.
Medical care as needed is provided. Housing is dormitory-style and residents are given clothing and three daily meals.
Work therapy includes an assessment of work skills and assignments to Salvation Army Warehouse.
Additional tasks include kitchen and dining room work at the rehabilitation center.
Workers are given a weekly gratuity. Spiritual guidance is mandatory and includes chapel services, Bible classes and morning devotions.
Recreational activities include use of the center's library and participation in community social events.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Call to ApplyAppointment is required during intake hours. Picture ID and a social security card are requested, but not required during the initial interview.
FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE
There are no fees for the residential program. Residents who are eligible for CalFresh are asked to contribute them to the program.
