Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Oklahoma City, OK

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Oklahoma City, OK that is right for you.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Care for Change website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2024

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $15,060
2 $20,440
3 $25,820
4 $31,200
5 $36,580
6 $41,960
7 $47,340
8 $52,720

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I am reaching out today for my Grandson 24 years of age who is struggling with drug(cannobis and meth) and alcohol addiction. He is basically homeless living with whomever will let him stay for a night or two. These people are usually drug and alcohol dealers and users. This lifestyle has been going on for the past year after he was separated from his girlfriend and new premature son for using meth in their apartment. He has been in jail twice since then for warrants and aggravated assault. He wants to spend time with his Son but visitation has been denied by the mother. Unfortunately he has had a pretty rough childhood in that he has been abandoned by two mothers at a young age and his Father at the age of 14. He was adopted by his paternal Grandmother at the time and during this time he was pretty much out of control taking drugs and actually overdosing twice requiring inpatient treatment. However, after treatment he continued the same lifestyle and his Grandmother basically kicked him out when he turned 18. My wife and I took him in for a year but he continued the drugs and alcohol and became quite depressed. Finally it got to the point that we could not manage him any longer and he refused treatment so we had to send him out to make a go for himself. Unfortunately it just kept getting worse until he met his girlfriend. They were together about 11/2 years until he was kicked out after their baby was born. He called me last night to see if he could spend one night and I consented. He talked to me about inpatient rehab because he was tired of this lifestyle. He wants to have a relationship with his child but he knows it isn’t going to happen until he is drug free. Because of his situation he hasn’t the means to communicate with anybody to get help. He has no income and hasn’t for about two years. We are desperately seeking assistance for him in an effort to get him on the right track. Thank you for you time and consideration. God Bless.
