Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Lawrenceville, GA

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the CAFAC Inc Center for Addiction Family Counseling website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2024

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $15,060
2 $20,440
3 $25,820
4 $31,200
5 $36,580
6 $41,960
7 $47,340
8 $52,720

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

Hi, I am reaching out on behalf of a good friend of mine. I am currently his power of attorney and he is currently incarcerated. He has been thrown from place to place his whole life, always being 'in the system'. He doesn't have parental support. It's obvious to anyone that meets him that he desperately wants help and out of this lifestyle. He just needs a chance and someone to believe in him. He has no insurance and no money. I am able and willing to pay $250 towards getting him into a facility but that is all I have to do so. He is begging for help but the court system just keeps him locked up. He has asked me to help him find a place where he can get better. He knows he is sick and wants help so badly. The last time he told the judgethey sent him to RSAT. It is obvious keeping him locked away is doing him no good. He is 29 and has 3 children One was just born about 4 months ago and he's been incarcerated since july 23. He only just got out of jail in March he was staying with me and kept out of trouble throughout the time he was free till july when he relapsed and was found sleeping in a hammock at lake Lanier. Please call me at 404-395-2877. He doesn't deserve this life I know it and he is losing hope. Every time they let him out of jail he has no where to live no money and no job and he resorts back to the only lifestyle he's known since 13 years old. I really hope you can help my friend and be apart of the solution to save his life and him a fighting chance at being the father he wants to be.
