Aegis is a Medi-Cal and Medicare provider.
Aegis is also an approved provider for major HMOs, PPOs, IPAs (e.g. Kaiser Permanente, Health Net, United Health) and large employer plans (e.g. Wells fargo, target, uc system).
Over 50% of Aegis existing patients have their treatment paid in full by Medi-Cal, Medicare. Beginning in January 2014, the Affordable Care Act has transformed the way health care is provided and paid for in the United States that will affect all residents.

These changes include:
The expansion of Medi-Cal eligibility to all individuals with annual income of less than $15,856 for a single person, $21,404 for a couple, $32,499 for families of four, and up to $54,689 for a family of eight. Most young adults and students in particular, would now qualify for Drug Medi-Cal coverage, and will not have to pay for treatment within Aegis. Californias Healthcare Exchange will require that HMOs and PPOs cover mental health and addiction treatment services as part of their essential benefit package. This means that for the first time, individuals enrolled in these private health insurance plans will be entitled to receive addiction treatment services at Aegis.

Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Merced, CA

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Merced, CA that is right for you.

4 $31,200
5 $36,580

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
